Save Me

I cower in my stall

Waiting for the time

When the lash of the whip

Will Make me fall

Sinking to my knees

Is it possible I once used to be free?

I feel the whip along my hide

You can see the silent cry in my eyes

As my throat is dry and cracked

I  plea for death

Hoping that every one will be my last breath

The rope tightens around my neck

Dragging me to the wreck

Of a yard of fading souls

Horses dying my lost goals

Now a crack has split on my cheek

This ravenous hunger makes me weak

Oh, Save me from this pain

What exactly do these people gain?

At night how do they sleep

Knowing what they’ve done to me

When I do not obey

They beat on my chest with a plank of wood

Dying there as I stood

My heart is breaking

With this last breath I’m taking

I fall to the ground

Covered in a gentle blanket of sun

Thank you, for saving me

From this pain
